Overcoming Soul-Crushing Moments by Design

Have you ever faced the dreaded words "you're fired" in your career journey? I certainly have – not just once, but twice! Well, technically three times, if you count a Reduction-In-Force. Each instance felt like a crushing blow to my spirit. Yet, with the benefit of hindsight, I now see those moments of dismissal as unexpected blessings.

During two of those job losses, I was still a college student. But you know what? I refused to let those setbacks define me. Instead, I embraced the notion of "what's next?" I didn't struggle to find new opportunities; in fact, I welcomed them eagerly. Throughout my college years, I explored various fields, allowing myself the freedom to experiment and discover what truly resonated with me. And as I transitioned into adulthood, I continued this journey of exploration while steadfastly holding onto employment. I made a conscious decision to only bid farewell to roles that no longer served my growth.

Reflecting on these experiences through the lens of my Human Design, I realize how my Manifesting Generator Type guided me to release things that no longer aligned with my path, even in the face of termination. Alignment, for me, brings a profound sense of peace and fulfillment, particularly when I have the autonomy to operate on a flexible schedule and adapt as needed. Conversely, when constrained by someone else's rigid timeline, I feel stifled and disempowered.

Another fascinating aspect of my design is its emphasis on fluid identity. I possess the innate ability to shift and evolve into the person I need to be at any given moment. This realization serves as a powerful reminder that being let go from a job didn't paralyze me; it empowered me to thrive and excel in whatever I set my sights on.

Now, perhaps you've never faced the sting of termination, but chances are you've weathered storms where everything seemed to crumble around you. Let me assure you: sometimes, things need to fall apart to pave the way for something better to emerge. When you find yourself no longer served by a situation, two options typically present themselves: either you're nudged out or you choose to depart voluntarily. Regardless, the power to move forward lies within you. Don't allow the decisions or expectations of others to tether you to the past. Embrace the unknown, for what lies ahead is likely far greater than what you've left behind.

So, the next time life throws you a curveball, view it as a pivotal moment in your journey. Embrace it as an opportunity to learn, grow, and chart a course toward something extraordinary.
