Vacationing by Design

When people ask what I’ve been up to this summer, to them I probably sound like a broken record, but really I’m just singing my favorite song.

Despite not having the most adventurous summer vacation plans, I find purpose in taking a trip home to Oklahoma to spend time with family. It may not sound like a thrilling adventure, but to me and my loved ones, it's a meaningful and intentional experience.

It can still be disheartening to not be able to captivate people with your summer plans, and instead, have to admit that what you did might be uninteresting to them.

Here's the tea, it's not about what you're doing, but rather, the purpose behind it.

Maybe you're using this time to concentrate on your finances and make smart investments for your future.

Or, maybe you're relishing the tranquility of being at home.

Whatever your motives are, they are significant and valid. It's not about impressing others with your extravagant travels or activities, but rather, about living life on your own terms and engaging in what brings you happiness and satisfaction.

So the next time someone asks, "What did you do this summer?" don't hold back on your share, especially when it doesn’t sound like much.

If you're feeling a bit stuck on how to respond, don't worry! I've put together a few statements based on your human design type to help you express the purpose and intention behind your summer:  Don't have your chart grab it here

Projector - I spent the summer appreciating days that felt slow and allowed me to fully immerse myself in activities that brought me joy and curiosity. I was able to rest without feeling guilty, get quality sleep, and explore topics that piqued my interest.

Manifesting Generators - I spent the summer pursuing my passions and hobbies purely for the joy they brought me. As a result, I created a new version of myself that values my desires and recognizes their importance.

Manifestors - I spent the summer experiencing adventure and play, communicating intentionally and effectively with those I love, and feeling a flow of inspiration and new ideas pouring through me.

Reflectors - I spent the summer surrounded by nature, leaving behind any tendency to rush. I honored my own pace and felt cherished in my relationships, falling in love with new parts of myself each day.

Generators - I spent the summer feeling energized and inspired. At the end of the day, I felt content and satisfied, having pursued activities that brought me joy.

Your unique journey is worth celebrating, even if it doesn't involve a long list of exciting activities. Don't let anyone rain on your parade - your summer is a joyful expression of your authentic self and a reminder that fulfillment comes from living with intention.
